Mukteswar Temple is an important landmark of Odishan Architectural excellence and is situated off Lewis Road at the southern part of old Bhubaneswar City. The temple is a 10th century landmark dedicated to God Shiva and has immense importance for ancient Kalinga Art and Architecture. Gouri Temple dedicated to Goddess Parvati is another landmark situated near the Mukteswar Temple.
A small well famous as Marichi Kund is located near Mukteswar Temple and the water of which is believed to cure infertility of women, especially during the period of Rukuna Rath Yatra of Lord Lingraj, the ruling God of Bhubaneswar.
