Sanghol village, also known as Ucha Pind, is situated at a distance of around 40 km from Ludhiana.
Sanghol is one of the most important archaeological sites in India. Toramana and Mahiragula era coins and seals etc have been found here. These two kings belonged to Huna people who lived in around 6th century B.C.
Several Kushana era sculptures such as 117 stone slabs with intricate artwork were also discovered here. These included 69 pillars, numerous crossbars and other figures. Kushana Empire extended till Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan and parts of China. The era of rule of Kushana kings is dated to be around 1st century A.D
