Ganpati -Gauri Pujan

In India especially in Maharashtra Kokan region Ganpati -Gauri Pujan which is celebrated with great devotion by all the Maharashtrian. Like other festivals, Gauri Pujan has its own unique features. Goddess Parvati, the mother of Lord Ganesha, is also known as Gauri. As Goddess Gauri is a daughter of Himalaya; where lots of plants, herbs, flowers, trees grown at its bloom; which are having medicinal values. So at many places Gauri brings at home in very respectful manner in the form of various plants, flowers from forest area in small quantity. They covered it with Kathpadar Saree, put face on it, and decorate with ornaments, offers various Naivaidyas, fruits,& sweets. At some places Goddess Gauri is worshipped as Parvati as a warrior therefore Non-veg food offered to warrior Goddess. After 3 days Visarjan is done in flowing water.
