|
Lovedale is a little town situated in the Nilgiri Hills in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It is one of the highest places above the mean sea level in the Nilgiris. Presently this is a place notable for tourism. Lovedale is a picturesque hill station situated five km from Ooty. Lovedale serves as a perfect counterfoil to Ooty, better known as the Queen of the Hill Stations and which attracts heavy rush of tourists all through the year. The serene understated charm, stunning vistas, and salubrious climate make Lovedale a perfect retreat, especially during the summer months. Insulated from the hustle and bustle associated with popular hill stations, Lovedale makes it an ideal spot for honeymooners. Lovedale rose in prominence after the Nilgiri Mountain Railway became operational. The railway also called the toy train, was constructed to connect Ooty to the plains below.
