Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is one of the world’s most sacred and spiritually significant pilgrimages. Mount Kailash is revered as the earthly abode of Lord Shiva, while the pristine Lake Mansarovar is believed to have originated in the mind of Lord Brahma.
This carefully organised 14-day Kailash Mansarovar tour from Kathmandu travels through Nepal and Tibet before completing the challenging three-day Mount Kailash Parikrama. Experienced guides, Sherpas and support staff accompany the group throughout the journey, helping ensure a safe, comfortable and meaningful pilgrimage.
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, situated at an altitude of approximately 1,350 metres. Transfer to the hotel and attend a short briefing about the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

After breakfast, visit Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Budhanilkantha Temple.
Return to the hotel for lunch, followed by a detailed briefing, document check and preparation for the journey ahead.

After breakfast, begin the scenic drive from Kathmandu to Timure near the Nepal–China border.

Distance: 35 km | Approx. 1 hour | Altitude: 2,700 metres
After breakfast, complete immigration formalities on the Nepal side and cross the border. After completing China-side formalities, meet the local guide and coach team.
Continue to Kyirong for an overnight stay. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Distance: 105 km | Approx. 4–5 hours | Altitude: 4,640 metres
Drive to Saga through spectacular Himalayan landscapes, waterfalls and views of the Brahmaputra River.

Spend the day acclimatising to the high altitude. Yatris may take short walks, rest and prepare physically for the journey to Lake Mansarovar.

Distance: 480 km | Approx. 7–8 hours | Altitude: 4,556 metres
After breakfast, drive to the sacred Lake Mansarovar. On arrival, perform puja, havan and devtarpan beside the holy lake, subject to local regulations and weather conditions.

Distance: 30 km | Approx. 1 hour | Altitude: 4,664 metres
Drive to Darchen, the base for the Mount Kailash Parikrama. Visit Chiu Gompa and the nearby hot spring area en route, subject to accessibility.

Trek: 10 km | Approx. 5–6 hours | Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Drive to Tarboche and Yamadwar, the starting point of the Kailash Parikrama. Meet the porters and pony handlers before beginning the trek to Dirapuk.
Carry a packed lunch during the trek. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Dirapuk. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Trek: 22 km | Approx. 7–8 hours | Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging
Continue the most demanding section of the Mount Kailash Parikrama. Cross Dolma La Pass at approximately 5,585 metres before descending towards Zuthulpuk.

Trek: 14 km | Approx. 3–4 hours | Difficulty: Easy
Complete the final section of the Kailash Parikrama and return near Darchen. After completing the sacred circuit, drive approximately 250 km to Paryang with a packed lunch served en route.

Distance: 310 km | Approx. 5–6 hours
After breakfast, begin the return journey to Kyirong through the beautiful Tibetan landscape.

Drive to the Nepal–China border and complete immigration formalities on both sides. Continue approximately 160 km to Kathmandu.

After breakfast, attend the Yatra Completion Certificate ceremony. Visit Pashupatinath Temple for a holy water offering and closing prayers.
Return to the hotel before transferring to Kathmandu International Airport for your onward journey. (Breakfast)
